FAQ
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no paid tier, no trial, no sign-up, and no watermark. Every PDF and .docx download is unlimited and complete. The builder is funded by the rest of the site, not by gating your resume — that is the whole point of this project.
Where is my data stored?
Only in your own browser. The builder autosaves to this browser's local storage and generates your PDF and .docx files on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server, and we never see your resume. Use the JSON backup to keep a copy or move it to another device.
Is it ATS-friendly?
Yes. Every template is single-column with real heading styles, standard fonts (Calibri, Arial, or Georgia), standard bullet lists, US Letter sizing, and live, selectable text — no text boxes, tables, images, or graphics that applicant-tracking systems mis-read. The contact details are body text, not a header or footer.
Can I use it for an international CV?
The builder defaults to US norms, so it has no photo field and no date-of-birth field. Many countries (much of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia) expect a photo and personal details on a CV. For those markets, add the required details in a custom section and check the local convention before you send it.
Can I import my existing resume?
Yes. Open the Import panel to bring in a Word (.docx) file, a text PDF, a JSON Resume document, or our own JSON backup — or just paste your resume text. Everything is parsed in your browser; the file is never uploaded. You then get an honest report of what was captured and what to check, because parsing a free-form resume is best-effort. Image-only (scanned) PDFs are flagged rather than imported silently.
Are there example resumes to start from?
Yes. The Examples panel opens a searchable gallery of 100 fully-written resumes covering ten career sectors, from healthcare to trades. Filter by sector or search by job title, and one click loads a complete, ATS-safe resume into the editor that you can edit freely. It stays in your browser.
